To attain excellence against the odd in the form of conservatism, illiteracy, despondency, the tireless pursuits of social workers culminated the concept for the establishment of Rabindranath Thakur Mahavidyalaya (RTM), Bishalgarh. The aim of the visionaries was to create a knowledge hub with a holistic approach towards mankind. The college has opened an avenue to access higher education for the girls of the minority community, wards of the tea plantation workers and other disadvantageous communities. Presently the college is in a blooming stage with two programmes – Humanities and BioScience and has immense potential to flourish. Nurturing with utmost care by our dedicated, young as well as experienced faculty members will transform it into the envy of other institutions. I do believe that the college will be an epitome of higher education in the days to come and fulfil the vision of Rabindranath Thakur as he expressed “Where the mind is without fear and head is held high”.
